Robson Street is among the major thoroughfares that run in a southeast-northwest direction in the West End and downtown Vancouver, British Columbia. The core commercial blocks are called Robsonstrasse and they include blocks to Burrard from Jervis Street. Robson Street took its name from John Robson. He was a major player in the province's entry into the Canadian Confederation. Robson was also the Premier of the province beginning from the years 1889 to 1892. The start of Robson Street is at BC Place Stadium which lies next to False Creek's north shores. The street then runs northwest past Robson Square, the Vancouver Library Square and the Vancouver Art Gallery. It comes to an end at the Lost Lagoon within Stanley Park.
